The Naval Shipbuilders NDT Level III

The Naval Shipbuilders NDT Level III Specific exam aligns with the Navsea Technical Publication T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 requirements and is part of an employer-based certification system.

To apply for this exam, you must go through your naval shipyard administrator. This exam is designed to ensure that NDT professionals meet the rigorous standards required for naval shipbuilding.

To be eligible, you must be contracted as prime contractors or sub-tiers as an NDT Level III test examiner for:

  • Huntington Ingalls/Newport News

  • General Dynamics Electric Boat

The written exam takes 2.5 hours and consists of 50 questions on naval shipbuilding industry standards. It is a one-part, open-book exam.
