Stay Up-to-date on the InitiativeASNT 9712 Level II certifications must be renewed every five years unless recertification by exam is required by a third party.
Your certification expires on the last day of the month listed on your digital badge.
You can submit your renewal application up to six months before the expiration date.
Be sure to submit your renewal application and payment at least 60 days before your expiration date.
When you renew by points, fees are based on the number of methods you are renewing.
When you recertify Level II certification by exam, you must complete all requirements and pass all examinations by your certification expiration date.
You can pay all applicable fees by credit card, wire transfer, or check.

Join or Renew ASNT MembershipOnce you become Level II certified, you can keep your certification current either by application with continued active experience and points or by taking your exams.
Renewing your certification by points is simple if you keep track of your professional development and active experience over the course of your five-year certification period. However, every 10 years, you will need to recertify by examination.
Track your points as you earn them in MyCert.
Update Your PointsASNT’s points system enables you to document ongoing learning and commitment to your NDT practice.
You need to obtain a minimum of 100 points per method during the five-year (60-month) period of your certification.
You likely already engage in a variety of activities that can add to your renewal points. As you add your points to MyCert, be sure to also keep and upload documentation of your activities.

Document EmploymentSubmit visual acuity form completed by your employer or eye doctor using the Jaeger J1 eye chart.

If you can’t document 100 points during your current certification period—or if you’ve reached the 10-year mark—you can recertify by retaking the method examination for each Level II method certification you hold.
