Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel (IRRSP)
Demonstrate your qualifications to employers in radiography safety, securing trust in your knowledge, skills, and abilities to work autonomously as an NDT technician.
Start Your IRRSP ApplicationThe IRRSP program offers third-party radiation safety certification for those working with radioactive materials (RAM) and X-ray (XR) technologies. This certification meets federal and state regulations, including Title 10 Part 34 of the Code of Federal Regulations and Suggested State Regulations for Control of Radiation.
To qualify, you need documented work experience and training. The certification process involves both a computer-based exam and an employer-conducted hands-on practical exam. While acceptance varies by state, many states recognize IRRSP certifications because ASNT is an approved certifying entity. For more information on state acceptance, refer to the relevant state regulatory agency.
