New to ASNT? You'll need to create an account.

Existing ASNT user? If you’ve never logged into asnt.org, you'll need to reset your password.

Yes, payment must be received in full before your application can be reviewed and processed. This includes settling any outstanding balances or late fees. MyCert accepts credit cards and allows you to submit your application without immediate payment if you plan to pay via wire transfer or check. All payments must be made in US currency and by checks drawn from a US bank. Please note that applicants are responsible for all taxes, banking, and service fees, including any applicable withholding taxes.

If you choose to pay later, keep in mind that your application will only be held for 15 business days (3 calendar weeks). If payment is not received within this timeframe, your application will be discarded, and you will need to restart the application process. Upon submission, you will receive an email with a proforma invoice number for your payment reference. You can also access the proforma invoice and payment receipt within the MyCert portal.

For detailed information on completing payments, including instructions for electronic/wire transfers, please refer to the payment method information sheet.

Absolutely! Your application will be automatically saved where you left off, enabling you to return and complete it at your convenience. Please ensure that all required fields are filled out, necessary documentation is uploaded, and fees are paid before submitting your application. This ensures a smooth and efficient process for your certification application.

The necessity of providing a photo varies by certification program. Please refer to the corresponding certification page or program document for detailed information on photo requirements.

For programs that do require a photo, please ensure it is a color photo in JPG (preferred) or PNG file format. Note that all other formats will be rejected.

If you don’t meet the specified requirements, ASNT will notify you via email. If additional application information is requested and not provided within one year from the submission date, all fees will be forfeited, and a new application must be submitted.

Refunds are not available. If you decide to withdraw your application, you may do so by sending a written request to certification@asnt.org, but no refunds will be issued.

Scheduling and Examination

Once your application is submitted, it will undergo a review process to ensure that you meet all qualification requirements. After this review, you will receive an email from ASNT containing detailed instructions on how to schedule your exams.

You can also schedule your exams directly through the MyCert portal for your convenience. Examinations are conducted at PearsonVUE exam centers and other approved ASNT locations. For further details on testing locations, visit the exam page for the certification you applied for.

To prepare for your exam, candidates are encouraged to utilize the following resources:

  • Explore recommended exam preparation and study materials tailored to your chosen ASNT certification program. Visit the exam page for the program you applied to for details.

  • Take advantage of ASNT Education and Certification Prep Courses, which are designed to enhance your preparation efforts.

By leveraging these resources, you can maximize your readiness and confidence when sitting for your certification exam.

Candidates are granted a period of 12 consecutive months to schedule and take their exam upon receiving the approval letter from ASNT. If you do not complete these steps during this timeline, your application will be invalidated, requiring you to reapply.

Here’s what you can anticipate on your scheduled exam day:

  • Arrival: Please arrive at the test center at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Late arrivals exceeding 15 minutes may result in refusal of admission, with exam sitting fees forfeited.

  • Check-in: Upon arrival, you will undergo check-in procedures, including taking a photo and providing a signature before starting the exam.

  • Calculator: ASNT Certification Services will provide a scientific calculator for your use during the exam. Please familiarize yourself with the calculator guide provided before the exam and refrain from bringing your own calculator.

  • Language: All ASNT exams are conducted in written US English. Online exam dictionaries are available in Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and British English. Note that ASNT does not guarantee perfect context matching for translations in the certification exam.

  • Online Resources: PearsonVUE offers online resources to help you prepare for test day, including a Computer-Based Testing (CBT) tutorial and practice exam.

To reschedule your exam appointment, log in to the MyCert portal (My Exams section) or contact PearsonVUE at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment.

Cancel:

To cancel your exam appointment, go to the My Exams section in MyCert or call PearsonVUE at their designated number for the region where you scheduled your exam at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

Please note:

Rescheduling or canceling less than 48 hours before your appointment will result in forfeiting your certification and exam fees.

Ensure that you receive a confirmation email from PearsonVUE confirming the requested change.

If you fail an exam, you have the option to reapply and retest. The timeline and procedures for retaking exams vary depending on the specific program. You must receive a new approval letter from ASNT to retest, and they cannot sit for the exam again until this approval is obtained. For specific guidelines and requirements, consult the exam page and program document for the certification you applied for.

Certification and Results

Candidates receive certification upon successfully passing all required exams (including computer-based and practical, where applicable), provided there are no deficiencies in their application and payment.

After successfully completing the exam and having your application approved, you will receive a digital badge via email approximately 4 to 6 weeks after your exam results are processed and your record is updated. For detailed instructions on downloading your certificate and more information on digital badges, please visit the Digital Badges page.

You can also verify your certification by searching the certificate holder directory.

To print your certificate or wallet card, you can generate a PDF certificate or wallet card by accessing your badge through your unique link or BadgetCert Portfolio. You will need to create a BadgeCert account to access your portfolio.

Please note that ISQ holders do not receive a certificate or wallet card, and ASNT no longer provides hard copy certificates by mail due to the implementation of digital badges.

Candidates can obtain copies of certification receipts through the MyCert portal by going to the "My Purchases" section.
